Buying from abroad, step by step
- Choose and ask on WhatsApp. Every listing has a code, price, measurements and real photos. Message us with the code; we answer every day from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Honduras time. Our service is in Spanish.
- View it remotely. Ask for extra photos, video or a video call during the visit; we tell you what is possible for each property. A relative or someone you trust can also visit on your behalf.
- Review the documents. Before paying anything, your lawyer or notary checks the title deed, that the property is free of liens at the Property Institute (Instituto de la Propiedad) and that municipal taxes are paid.
- Sign without traveling, if needed. You can grant a special power of attorney at the Honduran consulate where you live, or before a local notary with an apostille. Your notary confirms the exact wording.
- Pay safely. Payment is made as the deed states and the notary instructs. Never send money to an agent's personal account or pay deposits before verifying.
Good to know
- Some Honduran banks offer mortgages to Hondurans living abroad with income in US dollars. We can connect you with a bank officer.
- Foreigners can buy property in Honduras, with restrictions in coastal and border areas that your notary will explain.
- Prices are published in the currency set by the owner, lempiras (L) or US dollars, with the equivalent. Land is measured in varas cuadradas: 1 v² = 0.6987 m² = 7.52 sq ft.
